The historical town of Cary in North Carolina, Wake County, inspired this typeface. Despite Cary being incredibly historically important, enough that the National Register of Historic Places listed it, the historic district does not feel unified. With Chatham Nova, named after the Chatham Railroad Station, I created a type system for the historical section, including various touchpoints, signage, way-finding, and merchandise.
With the time limit of a single week, our class catapulted into motion to create an exhibit called 26 Characters. With 26 Characters, we displayed our physical books, printed locally, our type posters with numerous examples of type treatment, and ephemera.
